Croke Park 'not big enough' for Congress mass

Archbishop of Dublin Dr Diarmuid Martin has said Croke Park will not be big enough to accommodate all who want to go to the final mass of the International Eucharistic Congress in the middle of June.

He also said the Irish Catholic Church was beginning to turn the corner in terms of healing and renewal after the clerical child sexual abuse crisis.

Dr Martin said this was evidenced by preparations for the Congress, by the increase in lay involvement in the Church and by the manner in which the Church is pushing forward with reviews to address clerical child abuse.

Dr Martin was speaking to journalists on the final day of the Irish bishops' spring meeting in Maynooth.
